Ah, Highley Manor in December — what an incredible spot for a wedding. Last December, I had the absolute pleasure of shooting a wedding there, and honestly, it was just so much fun. The couple was seriously the coolest — super chilled, no stress, and just ready to have a good time. From the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be one of those relaxed, easygoing days where everything just flows.
One of my favorite details from the day was that the bride had a Man of Honour instead of a traditional Maid of Honour — and honestly, he absolutely smashed it. He was the best little helper ever, bringing such amazing energy to the whole day. From fluffing the dress to fixing the veil, he was always on hand, making sure everything looked perfect.
It’s so refreshing to see couples doing things their way, and he was such an important part of making the day feel so effortless and enjoyable. I absolutely loved capturing all those little behind-the-scenes moments with him — he totally earned his title!
The getting ready suite at Highley Manor was the perfect place for those beautiful morning prep shots — full of natural light and just the right amount of pre-wedding excitement in the air.
They weren’t into heavy posing (which, honestly, I’m all for). We had a super quick and relaxed couple’s session — no awkward standing around or forced smiles — just them being themselves. We laughed a lot, and their personalities really came through in the photos. That’s the kind of vibe I love capturing — nothing too staged, just natural, real moments.

And can we talk about the venue for a second? Highley Manor is seriously stunning. The outdoor ceremony area is gorgeous — even in December — and doubles as the perfect backdrop for portraits. It’s one of those venues that just works in every season. I’m already buzzing to be back there for more weddings later this year — it’s that good.

One of my favorite moments from the day was with the groomsmen. They decided to have a little cigar break, and I had so much fun capturing it. There’s something about that laid-back vibe — laughter, cigars, and a bit of mischief — that makes for such cool, natural shots.

Honestly, this wedding was exactly the kind of day I love shooting — relaxed, fun, and full of personality. Highley Manor absolutely delivered, and I cannot wait to be back there later this year for more of the same. Bring on the cigars and good vibes!
